Welcome! This page is designed to share stories and information with families, loved ones, caregivers and service providers of children with special needs. It is behavioral in focus and within the links, you will find stories about parenting, information about Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and hopefully feel support between and among special needs families.

Parenting a child with special needs in today’s fast paced world can be hard. We are balancing so many things in our daily lives and sometimes it can all just feel like too much. I designed this page for families as a place they we go to easily find tips that can make our days easier and smoother so we can maximize learning time for our most special kiddos. About The Above Links:

Personal Blog: This page shares stories from my own life as a special needs parent and special educator

ABA Parent Trainings: This section shares information for families in easy to understand terms about Applied Behavior Analysis and its benefits for learners with special needs and suggests ideas for how to incorporate these evidence based practices into your daily life.

Teaching Tips: This section highlights specific ideas for how to embed learning throughout your day.

Accessing Services: Here you will find information about how to get started with services for your child. Most of my resources are specific to the state of CA and San Diego County, but many of the resources I discuss can be accessed in different ways across the states. Special Education Law is Federal and applies to the entire United States, though things in school districts are done differently state to state.

Please feel free to email me at analyzingmommy@gmail.com if you have questions or concerns. Keep in mind that the activities are designed based on my own experiences in teaching and in my own home and will not work exactly as written for all learners and are not to be considered as specific lesson plans for children I have not personally met or worked with. Adapt my suggestions to meet the needs of your child, without having specific information about or observing your child I can’t give specific instructions. There are endless ways that activities can be customized to learners, these are just basic suggestions!! I’m very glad that you are visiting this page and I hope I can provide some support or help during this stressful time.

I’m sending love to all the special families out there who are trying to get by!
